“CSX is proud of our strong partnership with the Madison County Corporation for Economic Development and we’re committed to supporting community-based initiatives like Venture 69 to help attract rail-dependent economic development to the I-69 corridor. Madison County features several sites with direct access to CSX’s 21,000-mile rail network, which gives businesses a significant competitive advantage by connecting them to ports and population centers across the U.S. CSX’s Industrial Development team works with customers in a wide range of industrial sectors to find customized solutions for new or expanding facilities so they can leverage the benefits of direct rail service. And because rail is the most efficient, environmentally friendly way to move long-haul freight, companies can maximize every segment of the supply chain while minimizing their footprint in America’s Heartland.”
We are very excited about the Venture69 Initiative in Madison County, Indiana. Norfolk Southern owns and operates a rail line paralleling the I-69 corridor in Madison County between Summitville and Anderson. In addition, we have a second rail line running through the northern portion of the county between Elwood and Alexandria. The location of our rail lines along with nearby interstate access adds to an environment ready for growth in logistics and manufacturing. We are particularly excited about the Alexandria Business Park which is 460-acre Shovel Ready certified Rail Prime Site ready for development and options for rail service by Norfolk Southern.
